How Tall - measure your height

You can now measure the height of whatever you want!

It's cool and simple. You can measure when you jump, dunk, even fly!
Thumb on screen and release your phone, then you can get how tall is it.

Let's find out the height!!

*CAUTION: Do take good care of your phone.

Hi,

I just got your application as an ADC2 reviewer. Unfortunately, it does not work for me. I think this is a really innovative use for the accelerometers in the phone and I would like to make it work.

I run the application, and cannot interact with it in any way. I drop the phone, but no height appears -- the front screen just stays there, telling me to drop the phone. I have tried holding the phone in numerous ways before dropping it, but I cannot make anything happen. The only way I can interact with the application is by pressing 'back' to quit it.

I have a developer phone, running android 1.5 . I ran logcat, but just this was shown:
I/ActivityManager( 56): Starting activity: Intent { action=android.intent.action.MAIN flags=0x10000000 comp={rawlaro.tool/rawlaro.tool.howtall} }
D/Sensors ( 56): sensors=00000003, real=00000003
D/Sensors ( 56): sensors=00000007, real=00000007
I/ActivityManager( 56): Displayed activity rawlaro.tool/.howtall: 291 ms

Any ideas?

Update: Everytime I tap the screen it displays:
D/a ( 9456): START

I see it must trigger the measurement by touching the screen -- but still it will do nothing more for me, even when I am sure to hold the phone touching the screen and trigger the START message before dropping.

Hi baffo32,

We appreciate your good hospitality. And thanks for letting us know about this issue. We feel surprised you even help us dump the logcat message.

Actually, we started this app "How Tall" just from 2 days before the ADC submission closed date. So.. the development was not really mature as you found out. The detecting part was set too strict to pass the condition... lol

By the way, the trigger time you mention is correct!

Anyway, we've released a new version for android users to download weeks ago. And it's for FREE.

Link below is the current version. (We're still updating it.)

If the link is not working, you can also try to locate our publication.

We sincerely expect your download and find out how it works. Looking forward to hear from you. Please feel free to leave us a message.

Best Regards,
